Bow ties are sized the same as your shirt collar size (15/15.5/16/16.5), which is generally the size of your neck plus one inch. If you receive a Smith Brand product that does not fit perfectly, send it back for the best size possible. Traditionally Fall/Winter fabrics are heavier and warmer materials, think wool, fur and leather. Spring/Summer are reserved for light and airy fabrics such as cotton, linen, silk. Although Smith Brand Bow Ties can be worn by anyone at any time, we suggest paying some attention to material as well as generally acknowledging seasonal color palettes.

How do I care for my Smith Brand Bow Tie?
Caring for your bow tie relies heavily on the material the tie is made from. Our current selection of bow ties are all made from wool or wool/cashmere blends. These materials should be approached no differently than a wool suit.
My advice is to use dry cleaning as a last resort. The chemicals used in the modern dry cleaning process can be very hard on the natural fibers that wool textiles are comprised of. The best approach with a Smith Brand Bow Tie is to avoid stains and spillage in the first place.
For fresh spills, blot the material with a dry cloth to soak the liquid off the wool. Rubbing is not advised, it may work the stain in further.
In the event of a dry stain or spot, using a suit brush on the problematic area may be all it takes. Rubbing a dry stain with another piece of cloth, such as muslin or another cotton fabric may break up the dried source as well.
